Taylor took some time off this past week so the Lewis' took on a few projects to fill the time. First was the front porch. Long over due for treating the wood. No official "before" pictures, but here's some during: each piece was taken down, scraped, sanded and then screwed back in place before painting. It wasn't intended to have the exact color back, but apparently it is! So it doesn't look that different despite it's much better condition.
What? You can't see it? That's because the first coat was done in the twilight hours after the kids went to bed - the neighbors surely questioned our aptitude with such little lighting. Then early the next morning before kids were up the second coat was applied - all of this to beat the afternoon rain!
Next was the bathroom. The last room in the home to be painted since moving in. Too many holes & patches from past...whatever was hung all over it - not visible in the picture, but clearly obvious in person. Then a new light fixture, and previously Taylor added the outlet - a bathroom with no outlet! Okay so there was one in the light fixture which is likely why it's been nearly falling off the wall all this time.
Just the minimum fix-it-up, but still a fresher look. Again, not much visible difference, but sure feels nice to have it done!
Not pictured is the addition of an exhaust fan in the master bathroom - another project previously just not gotten around to.And then spontaneously (he didn't even put it in solid works or make a sketch!) Taylor decided to construct a swing set for Abie & Benjamin. After cleaning and organizing our garages he found extra wood from previous ventures. Making the total cost = $27! More than half of that was Abie's actual swing seat.

Granted this is a little kids swing set, but they certainly love it!
Now just for a perpetual motion aspect of it.....
It was so nice to get so much done in such a short time and Abie & Benjamin loved having Dad around all the time too!

I totally get it on the bathroom project. We had the same situation--actually still do--no outlets except what was in the light fixture. It sure is annoying.
Wow! Love the swing set. Looks like the kids are having a blast!
You guys have been busy! Doesn't it feel great to get projects done. I've got a few, but they'll have to wait for the fall. Tiffany
