Yes, she's quite proud to announce that she broke 2 bones. Fell down the stairs, no really! Taking down the kiddie gate like she's done on numerous occassions before, but this time lost her balance and tumbled down. With a few whines and complaints that she'd fallen down she came to mom for sympathy and kisses better. But as soon as mom saw the "bend" in the arm she couldn't believe it.....that it was really broken and that A was so calm considering!
A while back a little friend Caleb broke his leg, so since then A & B like to come complaining because they fell down saying they broke a bone.......This time when she said it, mom could say, yes you did!
It must have helped because now she thinks it's really cool that she has a cast and gets to do everything one-handed/armed. Thank goodness! It's been 2 weeks now (news delayed - busy times) and she's still really proud to sport the bright yellow cast (her choosing)!
To top it off as she went to get the actual cast (temporary splint pictured above) the Dr said she'd actually already previously broken her bones in the exact same spot and that day had re-broken them as they were healing! Mom & dad are now questioning their judgement when they don't really complain that it must be okay....... high tolerance of pain?
Later when she drove past the hospital she announced, "that's where my cast was born!" Yes it was an ER visit - though realized afterward not necessary - things learned with experience, right?

I can totally sympathize as my kids' screams are the same whether it is a scratch or open wounds.
Unfortunately it is sometimes what you learn on the fly. I always try to call the peds office first to see if they have someone there to handle my needs. So far we've been lucky with all our stitches (4x)that we've only ended up at the ER once and that was because it was a Sunday.
I hope she heals quickly! How scary to find out she had already broken a bone.
Sometimes I think it's amazing kids live through childhood.
Oh my gosh! She's a tough one. I can't believe she had broken those bones before...amazing and scary. You're probably going through every bump, bruise and tumble she's taken trying to figure out when it happened!
How scary that you didn't even know! Glad she's okay!
