The 4th of July

What a lovely 4th of July it was! Peoria's weather was actually cool enough to NEED a jacket or blanket for watching fireworks. The Lewis family is not complaining one bit! Actually the celebration started July 3rd with fireworks at a park in Peoria for the Lewis family. Benjamin just sat watching, un-fathomed by the loud bangs and pops or flashing displays of light. Maybe it's because of the big thunderstorms he's experienced recently. While Abie would occassionally hide her head under the blanket. However it didn't seem that it was due to not liking the fireworks or noise, just being independant. When she did watch and Jacqie asked if she liked them or if they were pretty, she did respond, "uh-huh, pri-e (pretty)."

Then Friday morning was a ward pancake breakfast and flag ceremony. Abie & Kaleb loved the balloons.


With the exremely pleasant weather the Lewis family played a few rounds of Croquet (Taylor's father's day gift), Abie even joined in the fun.
Then later that afternoon a BBQ with the Decaires family and others. What made it even more fun was Abie's recent fascination with flags. It began a few weeks prior that Jacqie pointed one out to her. Since then she spies all of them she can during rides in the car, walks through the neighborhood etc. The Lewis family even put one out at their house which made her even more proud!
